What an interior job covers

Most interior projects are some mix of walls, ceilings, trim, doors and closets. Some homeowners want one bedroom freshened up before a baby arrives. Others have just bought a house and want every room done before the furniture shows up. Both are normal jobs for us.

You do not have to have colors chosen before you call. Bring your ideas, and we can talk through what holds up in a hallway with kids and dogs, what works on a ceiling, and where a washable finish is worth it.

How we keep your home clean

Floors and furniture are covered before a can is opened. Tools are picked up and the work area is tidied at the end of each day, so you are not living in a job site between coats.

McDugle Paints is owner operated. The person who walks the house with you and writes the estimate is on the job, so nothing you asked for gets lost between a salesperson and a crew.

Trim and millwork refinishing

Baseboards, door and window casing, crown molding, interior doors, stair railings, mantels and built in shelving are the parts of a house people see up close. They reward slow, careful work: sanding between coats, keeping paint off the floor and the wall, and leaving crisp lines where trim meets drywall.

Some homeowners want honey oak trim from the nineties painted white. Others have original woodwork in an older Sioux Falls home and want the finish brought back without losing the grain. Those are different jobs with different prep, and we do both.

Small drywall repairs and wallpaper removal

Paint only looks as good as the wall under it. Doorknob holes, dents, popped screws, stress cracks and the patch a plumber left behind get repaired, sanded smooth and primed so they disappear once the wall is painted. A bathroom, a border or a single room of old wallpaper can be removed and the wall cleaned of paste and primed.

We keep this to small jobs that are part of getting a room ready for paint. Hanging whole rooms of new drywall is a different trade, and if your project needs that we will tell you up front.
